What’s the mortality rate of Australian livestock on their way to overseas destinations?

The Australian Government reported that in 2017 there was a 0.1% mortality rate for cattle and 0.71% for sheep on sea voyages. These rates are down on the 2016 levels, which were 0.13% for cattle and 0.8% for sheep.

These rates are under the reportable mortality levels prescribed by the Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock: 2% for sheep and goats; 0.5% for cattle journeys under 10 days and 1% for cattle journeys over 10 days).
