Most cattle born into seedstock operations (studs) are naturally polled.

Cattle with horns can cause injuries to other animals, damage property and make handling more stressful for both livestock and farmers. That’s why the industry is working towards breeding polled cattle (naturally hornless). In 2023, 41.25% of stud calves from six of the largest breed societies were born polled.
