Australians love their beef and lamb min read

Australians love their beef and sheepmeat.

With average consumption per person within Australian Dietarty Guidelines. 

On average, Australians are not overconsuming red meat, in fact, average consumption is below the Australian Dietary Guideline recommendations of 65g per day. Australian Bureau of Statistics National Nutrition Survey released in 2025 found that Australians consume an average of around 56g per day, with women averaging 47.8g per day, and men 64.3g per day.

On average each year, over 90% of Australian households purchase beef and over 70% of households purchase lamb.
