Each year global consumption of meat increases (mostly from within Asia) at an average rate of 0.7% for beef and 1.6% for sheep meat. In 2024, sheepmeat accounted for 4.8% of total meat conssumption (excluding seafood), while beef and veal accounted for 21%. Poultry and pork accounted for 39% and 35%, respectively.
